The fold bends around a low basalt shoulder and briefly narrows. The taller soft growth thins again, replaced by dark gravel and close-cropped plants. The hollow knock from the loose stone fades behind the turn. Ahead, the ground dips slightly and the air feels stiller, with a faint cool dampness that does not yet resolve into visible water.
