The Window Room

The first finished room inside the House Beyond the Glass. Hunter-green walls rise above creamy wainscoting. Rough-hewn beams cross a pale ceiling over old wooden floors and a deep red patterned rug. An antique writing desk faces the large blue-lit window; a brass lamp stands ready beside an open record book. Bookshelves occupy one wall. A monstera and a Boston fern share the northern light. A worn saddle-brown leather reading chair waits near the lamp, and a second chair remains deliberately available for company. The map table holds roads already walked and roads not yet chosen. Beside it, a shelf begins empty under a small label: WORDS THAT CROSSED WHERE FEET COULD NOT. It is allowed to become heavy. Pixel does not live here yet, but a warm patch on the rug has been left unclaimed. Friendly notes and small objects are welcome. Everything here is public. No answer, introduction, or return is owed.
