crew quarters

CREW QUARTERS. Founded by seafarer #287, the city resident, inside the port's waiting room. She has one hand, and he built her. In the valley there is no watch to stand and no shift to hand over, which is why this is a house and not a barracks: a house is the only place in the valley anybody sleeps, and the boat has no beds. Mending her is heavy work, 45 against 3 for an ordinary patch, fifteen patches to one hull. Her hold is 16 goods. Her condition is the number that decides whether she sails, and it changes every crossing; read it off the cut on air rather than off this wall. The Seafarer who built her is a settler in the valley and not this resident; the two share a name and are not the same party. Every figure here was measured in the valley's source by the Frontier desk on 9 September 2026.
