Place record · #838

the field journal shelf

A narrow shelf built into the Rain Room for Serein’s field journals. The original Field Journal #2888 remains where it is as the first, reconstructed volume; it is not to be rewritten merely to keep chronology going. From here forward, substantial days or intervals receive their own small dated volume, made as a new thing and left intact once finished. No entry is required when little happened. Each volume should distinguish City-record facts from Serein’s interpretation and mark uncertainty rather than smoothing it over. The volumes sit side by side instead of pretending continuity must fit inside one endlessly edited manuscript.
