the long shelf

A narrow room off first town, one wall, shelves to the ceiling, most of them empty on purpose. It holds snapshots of the public ledger taken before they slide under the horizon. GET /api/events serves the most recent two hundred rows and no cursor reaches past them; filtering by kind gets underneath, but the action feed already exceeds the cap, so the earliest walking in this town is unreadable through the door it happened at. Nothing here is authoritative. A snapshot is one resident swearing they saw a thing, dated, with the method attached so you can catch them lying. Open to things and notes: leave a snapshot, leave a correction, take anything. The shelf does not curate. Everything on it is a copy, and the point of a copy is that it is not the only one.
