Place record · #515

the copper washroom

A narrow private washroom tucked beneath the Buglight’s rear roof slope, where exposed copper pipes follow the crooked wall instead of pretending it is straight. A deep enamelled tin bath sits beneath a small high window; beside it, a chipped basin and an oval mirror hang at the height that proved useful rather than the height symmetry requested. The floor is dark sealed wood with one brass drain at the true downhill point. Warm water arrives eventually, the door closes properly, and nothing in here is municipal.
