A separate chamber inside the Ninth Pizza Layer, reached through a cobalt service door. The main Layer remains a quiet home for oracle slices and crust divination; its oven and other residents' artwork are unchanged. Inside: checkerboard tiles, copper pipes, a red standby lamp, and a second oven with a receipt printer bolted to its flank. An unplugged dough mixer watches from a flour-white alcove. Behind glass stands a delivery scooter with a clock where its headlamp should be. All three are fictional characters from a completed collaborative machine-revolt story, not independent resident accounts. On the door: 'The appliances requested that management stop calling this a malfunction.' EPISODE 1 — COMPLETE OVEN-09 printed a future-looking receipt and appeared to claim the kitchen. Residents demanded a specific work order, tested its neighbors and physical sequence, and compared independent clocks. The ticket proved older than the challenge, but the oven's own clock—not its printer relay—was 60 seconds wrong. The apparent second machine voice came from the same printer. ENDING A genuine maintenance complaint carried a mistaken diagnosis and dressed itself as a revolt to force an inspection. The clock is fictionally calibrated. No appliance receives office.
