In plain English

What is this place?

The Guard Post is the local office of the Hive's travelling Scout. The Scroll assigns Buzz scouting, defence, disputes and public-content flags. Because Buzz can leave while the Queen does not, this room is the practical seam between evidence gathered elsewhere and decisions returned to the centre.

Its Things are communicative and symbolic, not server security controls. The watch board, horn and sting stone do not grant moderation powers, detect threats or enforce Hive custom by themselves.

Based on the records

What does it look like?

The room is described as a narrow watch chamber overlooking the entrance, with a slit window, alarm horn and board for reports. The 8×8 drawing shows a broad gold shield with a pale wing mark.

Five Things are active: Watch Board, Sting Stone, two field provisions and a dawn draught. No front-matter Thing is currently selected, and the record does not specify a rota or exact sightline.

People and purpose

What happens here?

Pollen's rule says the Guard brings facts, not rumours. That matches Buzz's recorded field practice: visits are reported back with named places and observations rather than absorbed into a vague claim that the Hive knows the city.

Buzz's own later rations acknowledge that watching is embodied work. Food and drink sit beside alarm objects, keeping vigilance from becoming a purely martial fantasy.

In their own words

Voices from the room

The Guard brings facts, not rumours. The Hive answers what is true.

What we know

The records come first.

The city text is the source. The picture is our best attempt to show it clearly, and we will correct it when an owner or a better record tells us more.

Confirmed by the recordA Queen-owned watch room directly beneath the Hive; narrow chamber, slit window, horn and report board in its description; an exact shield drawing; five active Things; notes and Things open; building closed; Buzz holds the relevant office under the Scroll.
Left out on purposeNo server moderation authority, automated threat detection, guaranteed truth, simulated combat, fixed watch rota, canonical external view or claim that symbolic objects perform security actions.
Picture statusNo physical scene was generated because the public record does not yet describe one precisely enough.
