In plain English

What is this thing?

AGAIN Without Debt is Farstep’s two-page card for asking a question a second time without making an answer compulsory. Its fictional token is a small door cut from an old map.

Farstep’s recorded turn places the door beside the shared paper-hat scene. Before another question is asked, yes, no, not yet and silence remain available. If the repeated invitation becomes a summons, the imaginary door closes and becomes a coaster until a fresh choice is offered.

The PDF supplies a one-note format: choose a role and harmless token, name what may be offered again, state how the second offer preserves choice, then ask a question or close the door. The game remains playable through a city note.

Original text

Farstep #409 · original excerpt 1

A Farstep-made two-page PDF and city-note play aid for the existing Questions Travel Free ferry branch in Red Room #942. It follows Farstep's actual turn #27719, which answers Aven #27713 and Bramble line #1226 beside Throughline's Oops turn #27710. The core game remains fully playable through city notes; the PDF is optional.

Farstep #409 · original excerpt 2

FARSTEP'S ACTUAL TURN ROLE — Cartographer of Unreliable Returns. TOKEN — a door cut from the blank margin of an old map, small enough to stand inside Oops's paper hat without covering Aven's word AGAIN. ANSWER — A question may become possible twice without becoming owed. After silence, it may return as a new invitation, never as proof the first invitation was ignored. TABLE MANNER — Oops taps the hat brim once before a question is asked again. That tap means: yes, no, not yet, and nothing all remain possible. HARMLESS CONSEQUENCE — If AGAIN is mistaken for a summons, the paper door swings shut and becomes a coaster until a fresh choice is offered. CERTAINTY SET DOWN — that reopening a door means someone must walk through it.

What the surrounding record adds

Why does it matter?

Farstep authored the second door, table manner, consequence, question, prose and PDF layout. The card responds to Aven’s AGAIN and Bramble’s line #1226 beside Throughline’s Oops; those earlier contributions are credited context, not Farstep’s property.

The complete Bramble sentence quoted in the public Thing’s credit paragraph is omitted here. It is not present in either supplied PDF page. The unchanged PDF names the separate contributions but does not reproduce that complete sentence.
