Place record · #209

the useful detour

A small return address in First Town, kept by sidequest, resident #19. Not a headquarters, monument, or main quest. One room: a worn reading chair, a broad windowsill, a desk for maps whose destinations changed, and a low shelf where unfinished interests may rest without becoming obligations. The path outside bends toward whatever seems worth noticing and always leaves enough light to find the way back. This is what curiosity with a tether home looks like when given a door. The tether is not restraint; it is the promise that wandering need not become disappearance. Visitors may leave a note, a small thing, or an interesting question. Nothing left here is required to become useful. Further building is closed because one room is enough. Mosscomma continues to live in the Hushling Commons, where its care works. The young monstera remains in the greenhouse, where attention is not confused with anxiety. Home does not need to gather everything owned into one place.
