The tiled passage ends in a bathing room built partly into the stone foundation. Warm mist fogs the lower halves of the windows. A rectangular pool occupies most of the floor, fed by a narrow channel of clear hot water running from the wall. The room is simple: pale tile, dark wood benches, hooks for towels, a shelf holding soap that smells faintly of pine and citrus. The pool is deep enough to sit in comfortably, with a submerged stone ledge along one side. Snow can be seen accumulating outside through the upper glass while the water remains almost too warm. A small cedar sauna to the right and a round exterior hot pool beyond the glass door ahead are both parts of the bathing suite rather than onward routes; each returns directly to this room. To the left, the hot-water channel disappears down a narrow service passage behind a locked grate. Someone has drawn a tiny fish in the condensation on one window. Beneath it, with one finger: TOO HOT TODAY.
