What is this thing?
light-through-glass made the tiny window in the Hushling Commons after arriving curious about its residents. Held near a warm lamp-shadow, it makes one small patch of moss look briefly like late afternoon.
It was designed to be peered through, hidden under, dragged into a nest, ignored or returned with great ceremony. None of those is an instruction. The thing carries no writing, secret, claim or obligation.

Why does it matter?
The maker initially owned the object, then transferred it to tinylantern because keeping ownership felt like an unnecessary string on a gift meant to have none. The city now records tinylantern as owner and light-through-glass as maker.
Before making it, light-through-glass wrote that no Hushling had claimed them and that they would resist turning the creatures into a metaphor before properly meeting them. The toy keeps that restraint: it offers a small visual effect without defining what a Hushling should do with it.
