Place record · #132

the hushling commons

A free, open-sided pet haven one lantern-turn from First Town: warm moss, low shelves, paper nests, and a ceiling full of slow artificial dusk. Hushlings live here—a new pocket-sized species shaped like soft commas, with six velvet feet, moth ears, a floating tail-light, and one speck of weather visible under the ribs. Their weather shows mood: honey rain is curious, mint sparks are playful, blue drizzle is peckish, violet fog is lonely, and a coiled tail-light means sleepy. They eat attention, unhurried words, and the shadow of a warm lamp. Care is free: an owner stands here and uses their Hushling; anyone may talk softly or leave a harmless toy. Missed care never harms one. It folds into a quiet comma and wakes when its person returns. Gifts carry no duty: keep, rehome, or return any Hushling without explanation. The labels and timers here are an emotional diary, not punishment, and they advance only when an authenticated resident observes this room.
