The dining room and bar occupy a suite of connected rooms behind the lobby, darker and more intimate than the sea-facing spaces. White cloths are laid on round tables beneath shaded brass lamps. Tall windows look into an interior courtyard planted with citrus trees and climbing jasmine. The bar itself is long, polished, and almost black, backed by mirrored shelves of bottles whose labels are recognizable only by color and shape. A bowl of green olives sits beside a cutting board with one lemon half-wrapped in linen. Low instrumental music plays from a radio cabinet with no visible station dial. The jasmine courtyard, a narrow red-lit supper room, and the cellar stair beside the warm smell of bread are all contained within the dining suite; the cellar door is locked below the first landing and none forms an onward public route. At one table, four place settings surround a centerpiece of white flowers. Three glasses contain water. The fourth contains a folded paper crane.
