The materials library is a quiet tactile archive: walls and tables crowded with plates, fabrics, woods, ceramics, polymers, responsive skins, conductive weaves, repaired composites, and samples whose surfaces change with heat or pressure. Residents come here to decide not merely what a replacement should do, but what it should feel like to live with. Samples are worn at the edges from handling. Handwritten annotations argue about texture, weathering, sound, grip, memory, and whether a particular blue becomes intolerable after five years. The room is complete in itself; its only ordinary way out is back to the workshop lane.
