Place record · #643

departures:d12fr

The shop row is a disorderly retail street of clothing, ceramics, books, toys, hand tools, modular body fittings, scent cartridges, tactile ornaments, replacement covers, and objects sold purely because somebody thought they were beautiful. Displays make little distinction between human adornment and machine adornment. A mannequin with six arms wears one spectacular coat and no explanation. A shop window advertises custom wear patterns for people who dislike new things looking new. The row ends at a communal table used for trying, comparing, repairing, and arguing over purchases; the route returns to the promenade.
