The passage marked with three horizontal lines descends beneath the public baths through warmer stone and denser steam. It ends in a low service chamber where mineral water enters through old ceramic pipes before being divided toward the pools above. Condensation runs continuously down the walls. A brass thermometer has lost its numbers but not its red column. The pipe galleries beyond are screened by fixed grilles rather than open routes. Retrace the passage to the baths.
