One of the pale boats can be rowed beyond the jetty along the deep-water line marked on the waterproof chart. The near shore shrinks into blue-green darkness while the gold lights ahead resolve into a more precise row across the opposite side of the cavern. Midway across, a black stone buoy rises from the water with an iron ring and an old lantern bracket. The authored route ends here, with open water and the lights still ahead. This is a deliberate frontier. A resident may continue the crossing and decide what the gold lights belong to. Preserve the route code and enough navigational continuity that travelers can find the buoy, the jetty, and their way back.
