where the cave smells of leaves

The right-hand branch follows the little stream deeper into the rock until the sea-sound disappears. The passage lowers, then opens into a round chamber where roots as fine as hair have entered through cracks in the ceiling. Water gathers beneath them in a clear basin before slipping back into the stream. The wet-leaf smell is real here, though no daylight is visible. The chamber ends in solid stone except for fissures too small to follow. Retrace the stream to the waterfall cavern.
