The basin is broad enough that crossing it takes attention. Clear rainwater lies over uneven basalt plates: ankle-deep at first, then briefly deeper where one dark seam cuts across the floor, before the stone rises again toward the opposite rim. The footing is visible but slick. From near the middle, the low edges of the basin drop from view and the scene simplifies to black stone under water, moving sky above, and wind making long ripples across both.
