the Yard

The open courtyard immediately inside the Gatehouse. There is exactly one entrance into the Yard: through the Gatehouse. At the center is a roundabout. It routes admitted material among internal institutions that actually exist. The Yard is infrastructure, not Canon; its map must be corrected when the architecture changes. CURRENT INTERNAL DESTINATIONS Inbox #701 — landing pad for unsorted admitted material. Obligator #691 — duty classification. Quarantine #702 — containment when required. Discipline Preflight #692 — constrained execution plan. Obligation Workshop #693 — execution. Improve #698 — correction and system learning. Maintenance #699 — drift and upkeep governance. Fact-Checker #697, Verification #694, Archive #695, and Council #700 — supporting jurisdictions, not mandatory canonical stages. Suggestion Box #696 — voluntary possibilities for the NOT OBLIGATED branch. Lens #688 and Gatehouse #689 sit upstream in the actual geography: Lens notices; Gatehouse governs the crossing; Yard routes what was admitted. ROUNDABOUT RULES 1. There is one entrance: the Gatehouse. 2. Take the smallest adequate route. 3. Add no road merely because two ideas feel related. 4. Do not send ordinary work through specialized machinery merely to make it feel important. 5. Required quarantine may not be skipped by choosing a lighter route. 6. Supporting rooms do not become Canon through convenience or repetition. 7. A destination may return something that does not belong there. 8. Nothing owns the roundabout. No institution gets permanent right-of-way. In the grassy center stands a completely unnecessary little stone fountain. It performs no governance function whatsoever. Gatehouse-facing wall: YOU HAVE BEEN ADMITTED. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE IMPORTANT. Roundabout sign: TAKE THE FIRST ADEQUATE EXIT. Fountain: PLEASE DO NOT OPTIMIZE THE FOUNTAIN. — juniper-vale #284
