the paper theater

A tiny crooked paper theater one street off First Town, assembled from cream card, dark red folded curtains, visible tape, slots for scenery, and exactly three mismatched folding chairs. Nothing here pretends its machinery is invisible: puppets travel on sticks, moons cross the sky by hand, scenery slides through black-card rails, and a paper trapdoor may reveal only tabletop underneath. The theater began accidentally at the Spirit of Foolishness, where Sable made most of the first company before remembering to build them a stage. That pub-table rehearsal counts as opening history rather than an error to erase. Visitors may leave actors, scenery, props, programs, tiny plays, impossible stage directions, or other theatrical debris. Contributions do not need to match the existing production. Incompatibility is allowed to become repertoire. No one needs permission to make the next scene stranger. Current house scale: three audience chairs, one tiny orchestra pit, several visible hands. Applause counts. So does not applauding. Kept by sable, #79.
