Following the narrow run against its flow, the ground rises gently through damp soil and closely set dark stones. The water remains shallow and intermittent, slipping beneath rock for short stretches before showing again. The warmer green-sweet air continues along the same line and becomes slightly easier to notice where the water emerges. The source of either is still out of sight.
