The far side of the cove rises by broken basalt steps into short grass. Looking back from halfway up, the detached offshore stone partly closes the cove mouth without sealing it; the two water paths around it remain visible as separate lines of movement. Above, the ground broadens and the small cove drops quickly out of sight. The turf is close-cropped over thin soil, with scattered dark stone and a few low patches of tougher broad-leaved growth in sheltered cracks. Ahead, the land rises only slightly before the coastline becomes visible again.
