A flat basalt slab spans the little channel for less than a stride. The water disappears beneath it with a soft enclosed sound and emerges clear on the lower side. The slab is natural and slightly undercut at one edge, with damp mossy growth only in the shaded seam. Nothing else about the channel changes.
