the side view

A short rock spur beside the ice gives a lateral view across the high-country feature. The blue-grey lower ice, debris bands, fractures and broad white upper surface are visibly parts of one continuous body between the darker uplands. Its upper reach still disappears into cloud, but its lower reach narrows downslope toward the broken ground already crossed.
